Off the coast of central California, a little yellow flapjack octopus was seen hiding inside its own tentacles on the sea floor. Maybe it was a little bit shy?
Researchers on the E/V Nautilus say that the cute octopus is not shy but that it sometimes hides because it is so bright.

Most of the time, this type of octopus is pretty small. Male species don’t get bigger than 20 cm. Their bodies look like they are made of gelatin. The cutie in the video is a clear yellow color, but some flapjack octopuses can be bright red or pink.
