In the last few days, an impressive video has gone viral on the internet. Researchers found a new way to count the number of green sea turtles living on an island in the Great Barrier Reef.
In particular, scientists from the Raine Island Recovery Project counted 64,000 of these animals on the island by using drones and painting a part of an adult turtle’s shell white with non-toxic paint.
The Guardian says this number may be 1.73 times higher than what was thought before.
