Royal Caribbean Cruise reported that 48 passengers aboard the SYMPHONY OF THE SEAS were found to be positive for covid-19. There were 6091 people on board the vessel when it was docked in Miami the weekend. Royal Caribbean International has said that each covid-19 positive individual was either mildly-symptomatic or not symptomatic and that the company is monitoring their health. The company also announced that six passengers were able to leave the cruise and were transferred to their homes.
The seven-night cruise started on the 11th of December, and made stops in St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and an exclusive island in the Caribbean which is owned by Royal Caribbean, and finally finished in Miami. According to the rules that cruise ships leave US ports must require all passengers over 12 years old to be vaccinated by two doses of the vaccine covid-19 or a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Royal Caribbean declared that almost all passengers who were found to be positive for the vaccine were completely immunized.
