Bloomberg (Bloomberg) — After an undersea pipeline valve failed, spewing oil into the country’s Gulf Coast, a fire broke out near Pemex’s Ku Maloob Zaap offshore platform complex.
Three ships were seen in a video released on social media attempting to extinguish a fire that had erupted in the sea, dangerously close to an offshore platform. Pemex did not respond to a request for comment or confirmation of the video footage.
According to a source familiar with the issue who asked not to be identified because they aren’t allowed to speak publicly, the fire has been put out and no injuries have been recorded.
