Ten years after the last time it came to America The Voyager of the Seas returned to the United States yesterday.The ship is docked in Boston. It was built in 1999 and has completed a transatlantic journey before embarking on a series of Canada and New England cruises.
The program runs through October. The Autumn schedule includes six weeks of cruises that depart at Flynn Cruiseport Boston. With a variety of itineraries, sailings will take you to various ports, which include Halifax, Saint John, Bar Harbor, Charlottetown, Portland and many more.
Voyager’s last trip to a port in the state of Louisiana was on April 12, 2012. The vessel left New Orleans on a repositioning journey to Spain the same day. Following a prolonged period that was devoted to the Asia-Pacific region, the Royal Caribbean International vessel returned to the Western Hemisphere earlier this year.
Returning to operations for the first time since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, The 142,000-ton vessel provided a summer time across Northern Europe that marked its debut in the region. The itinerary included seven to eleven-night journeys through Scandinavia along with the Baltic traveling to Sweden, Estonia, Denmark, Finland, Poland and many more. In November, the Voyager is scheduled to make a return trip to the Caribbean to begin winter, departing from San Juan, Puerto Rico.
When it first began service at the end of 1999, this vessel that could hold 3,100 passengers primarily traveled within the Caribbean before moving into the Far East in 2012.
As part of Royal Caribbean’s investments throughout the area, the ship operated from a variety of homeports within the region which included Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tianjin and Yokohama.
The Voyager also operated through Southeast Asia and Australia during the time and cruises departed in Singapore, Sydney and more. The ship has been extensively renovated over the years, and the vessel underwent major changes in the year 2019. As part of the Royal Amplified program, a modernization of the fleet the refit cost $97 million and added new features, new areas, and brand new cabins on the ship.
