On Tuesday, a boat carrying four teachers and thirty-one students capsized in Khanpur Dam- Pakistan, resulting in tragedy. One teacher drowned, according to media reports, when the boat split in two after hitting a rock due to low water levels in Khanpur Dam.
At least four children were in critical condition, and medical attention was given to them. The rest of the boat’s passengers were rescued safely.
A boat carrying tourists fell into Khanpur Dam in March of last year, killing at least two people. The vehicle carrying the five-member family from Islamabad skidded off the road and into the lake. Three people were rescued alive, and two others were found dead.
